Sometimes a layover becomes a legacy. This one unfolded in three acts — from first bites to final blessings.
🥖 Day 1: First Taste of France
“Trying French Cuisine for the First Time”
We landed in Paris and headed straight into flavor. My crew suggested a local French restaurant, and I said yes — even though I’d never tried French cuisine before. The textures, the sauces, the ritual of it all… it felt like a culinary initiation. I’ll never forget that first bite.
🛒 Day 2: Grocery Run & Café Pause
“Grocery Shopping in Paris with Olivia”
The next morning, my friend Olivia took me grocery shopping — a ritual I love in every country. We wandered the aisles, comparing snacks and staples, and then paused for tea at a cozy café near our hotel. It was one of those quiet moments that felt like home in a foreign city.
🕯️ Evening Ritual: Candlelight at Notre Dame & Christmas Market
“Honoring Our Crew at Notre Dame”
That evening, my crew and I took the train to Notre Dame. We lit a candle in memory of our colleague and friend — a moment of reverence and connection. I also lit a candle for my dad who transitioned to the other side, and for my mom's good health and longevity.
Afterward, we wandered through the Christmas Market, letting the lights and laughter soften the night.
✨ Reflections
Layovers aren’t just logistics — they’re layered. This one held firsts, friendships, and farewells. I’m grateful for every bite, every candle, every laugh.
